Dinner Prayers and Blessings

Here is our collection of popular dinner prayers and blessings. There is no better time to speak to God then when you’re gathered around the dinner table with the ones you love.

This first prayer is a very popular before meal blessing. It holds a special place in my heart as I remember fondly my grandfather saying it before dinner when I was a young boy.

My grandpa was a hungry man, and when your hungry, a short blessing is a must!

Come Lord Jesus

Modern Angels

Firemen are a bit like modern angels. They appear out of nowhere and save us from the flames. But, firemen need protection just as much as we do. Here is a prayer from a mother for her son who is a fireman.

Prayer to stop divorce and restore marriage

Lord, I offer up my marriage to you, so that you may heal our wounds, and restore our union. Lord, I ask you to command my marriage to raise from the dead. I pray that you remove all evil influences and enemies of my marriage.

Speak to my wife, soften her heart, and return her to our marriage. I ask that you show my wife that our love is true and that together with God we can be happy again. Lord, you are a tremedous and loving God, and have the power to help spouses reconcile. Lord I ask that you “fix” me and my wife so that we will once again fall into love. Father, I ask that you help me remain calm during this difficult time, so that I may choose my words and actions carefully.

I pray that You speak to my wife in her thoughts, dreams, and visions. Show her that divorce is not the solution and will not make her happier. Prayer for Healing for my husband who has prostate cancer, and for his upcoming surgery to remove his prostate.

Heavenly Father, giver and maker of all things, I praise your holy name. I thank you Lord for being God all by yourself, I thank you for your faithfulness and for you many blessings. Father you said in your word that if we”delight ourselves in you that you will give us the desires of our heart”.

Father it is my desire and my prayer for my husband Larry, that you will strengthen him, heal his body from cancer and any other disease that my be in his body. I ask Lord for a complete restoring of his body to good health. Father, you said that we get not because we ask not, I am humbling asking for your healing power to touch Larry. I pray for your presence in the operating room to guide the doctors, nurses and all hands involved in his surgery.

Father I believe that all things are possible through Christ, and it is through him that I pray this prayer. I give you all the glory, all the praise and all the honor. Thank You Jesus Amen.

Scottish Wedding Blessing

Scottish weddings are steeped in tradition. A traditional Scottish wedding blessing can be fun to say even at a modern Scottish ceremony.

Though there are many traditional Scottish wedding blessings, this one is my favorite. It starts with the singular individual (heart and character), moves to the couple (home), and ends with the community (nation and world).

The sentiment is perfect for a couple starting their life together.

A Righteous Heart

If there is righteousness in the heart
If there is righteousness in the heart,
there will be beauty in the character.
If there is beauty in the character,
there will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home,
there will be order in the nation.

Next, we have a prayer in the traditional Gaelic, as well as with the english translation.

This blessing asks for a happy future for the bride and groom. It is a prayer for peace, long life, and riches for the couples life together.

Lord, I thank you! You are an awesome God! Lord I ask that you touch, restore and heal Dan’s body. Lord your word says that Jesus was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace are upon you and by your stripes we are healed. I call Dan healed in the name of Jesus. Lord your word says if you words abide in me and I abide in you I can ask you anything and you’ll do it.

I ask that you heal Dan in the name of Jesus. I ask that you touch and heal all children who are suffering from lupus and any other chronic illness. I pray for mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and all family members being affected by a child’s illness. I ask that you strenghten them in this journey. Oh Merciful Father God,

On this day, I most earnestly pray for guidance, patience, strength and wisdom. Please direct my paths, as I have tried to do things in my own way and in my own strength, and I have erred greatly. Make my thoughts clearer, my attitude more positive, my behaviors more righteous. Please give me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Let my deeds and the words of my mouth be pleasing to You. Forgive me for my sins against You, Your children and myself. The enemy seeks to destroy my marriage, my family and my household. Dear Lord

You have heard my prayers Lord and are giving my daughter this opportunity to go for an assessment for a new job, Lord out of all the jobs we have applied for this job is the one that came back with this opportunity and I feel it was your hand in this. Please help her through the assessment on Monday and Lord if it is your Will then it will be done.
There are a couple of things she may have a problem with Lord but I trust you will guide her and give her what she needs to progress to the next level.

Prayer for approval on our rental application for a home for our family.

I pray that, those making the decisions on our home rental application will be moved to show us favor despite bad credit.We are a family of 7 myself, my husband, and our 5 children. We know the pain of homelessness, and the house we now live in is being sold. We were told we have until June 1 to find someplace to go.

My husband works 2 jobs, and we need to find a home fast. I have found one that would be perfect, allowing our children to stay in their school, and the monthly price is right in our range. The only issue is that our credit is not good, and may possibly cause the owner to not trust to rent to us. But this is not the case as we have been at our current location for 2 years, and have paid rent on time with no problem, We our in the process of cleaning up our credit and settling up things from when we were young and not very responsible.

I just pray that the door to this home will be opened to us, and that we get approved to move in ASAP.

Heavenly Father, God Almighty, our Creator, the Great Physician, in you alone I seek refuge, for you are Sovereign and so Holy! Prayer for my husband to soften his heart and restore our marriage

Father,

Please turn my husband’s heart into flesh and return him to me. I pray for full restoration in our marriage and much better than before. I rebuke the enemy from his strongholds against my husband and the people that are encouraging our separation/divorce. I pray for peace in our home. I pray that my husband’s love for me will be stronger than before. Please end his seek in wanting to live the single life again into wanting to be whole with his family. Bring peace into our marriage. Remove the anger, the bitterness, the frustration, and any other emotion that my husband may be feeling towards me.

Prayer for help from hatred, victimisation and frustration by my boss

Everlasting father, you asked me to stay on this job but all I have seen since then is intense hatred, victimization and frustration from my boss. I have been subjected to the worst kind of humiliation, denial of all rights and privileges yet I have held on because you asked me not to leave. I am constantly disgraced, humiliated and put down as nothing is ever done to empower me to perform my job. I am programmed to fail to give him a cause and reason for his attitude to me. The shame is too much. The humiliation is too much. You oh Lord are an ever present help in time of trouble. This is time of trouble oh Lord. Arise in your might and save me. Please stop animal abuse in all it’s form all over the world

Dear God,

I pray everyday and my heart hurts so much that there are times I cannot deal and my tears burns my face. I ask in prayer that you will please stop all animal abuse in all it’s form throughout the world. I ask in prayer that you please have the individuals involved to open their eyes and heart, soften their understanding and let them see what they are doing that causes so much grief and pain to animals that cannot speak, but can show their distress. These wonderful creatures you gave to us, cannot speak for themselves so I will speak on their behalf. These beautiful creatures you have shared with us and asked us to be good stewards over, we have failed tremendously. I ask from the bottom of my heart that these evil hands that torture these unspoken angels that you gave us to protect and take care of from heaven above, please give these individuals a change of heart and open their eyes. I leave this tender request in your hands and pray in Jesus name, Amen.

Prayer for my son who is going through a bitter divorce.

Heavenly Father, I place my son in your loving care. Only you know him and the difficult life he was living with his wife. You know how he tried to keep the peace. Lord, please be merciful to him, I know he has failed at times to ask you for the graces and help, but he now turns to you asking your help to have his divorce settled peacefully.

I ask you to soften the heart of his wife, who now is seeking vengeance, she has risen against him, making this divorce bitter and painful. But Lord I believe if You are with us, who can be against us. Nothing is impossible for you. Mold her into your peaceful ways and instill, love and peace within her.

I ask Our blessed mother and all the angels and saints, especially St. Jude, the patron of the hopeless to intercede for me. Lord please let this matter settle peacefully without malice and hatred. I make this prayer in the holy and powerful name of Jesus. Amen

Prayer for my daughter to pass her Generalist exam tomorrow.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I pray that your good graces will be cast upon my daughter, Haley, while she takes her exam in the morning. She has been studying and preparing for this test, and if it is your will, I ask that you bless her with a successful grade. She is a devoted teacher, my sweet Jesus, and by passing this exam, it will allow her to spread her love for knowledge to various age groups of children.

I know in my heart dear Lord, that this is her calling, and that she is wonderful at it. If the time is right for her to conquer this exam, I pray that you will be at her side guiding her if she encounters difficulty. Please let the answers come to her with ease and that there is no struggle for her in choosing the correct choices.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to you today and ask that you lift up my husband Clayton who is currently deployed to Afghanistan. I ask that you Protect him from any type of attack whether it be physical, emotional or spiritual. Lord please bring him peace and comfort at night so he can sleep.

Lord, I pray that no weapon formed against him shall prosper and that you be his guide and show him the way. Lord please, I know the plans you have for him are for good, and not for eveil. I know you want to bless him and see him prosper and I’m standing on that word.

Prayer to be Relieved from Debts to the IRS

Dear St. Jude, helper of those in lost cases, please hear my prayer and present my pleas to our Lord God.

I am need of a miracle to help me be relieved of financial debt to the IRS.

I only wish to be saved from my debts. Any abundance provided to me from the Father of Lights, our Lord God, will be put to use helping those less fortunate than I.

Please dear Lord, hear my cries and the cries of all others this day who are in need of relief from the persecution of the greedy and bring relief for those in need.

I pray My God, that you will hear my prayer and bring me forth into the Light, annointing my head with oil, and bring my cup to overflow.

I am in desperate straits, and I fear losing my loved ones because of these debts.

Dear Lord, I pray in Your Name, and in Jesus’ name for financial relief.

Lord God, I pray for my sister Nelce Gay that shes taking the bar exam this Oct. that you will guide her, enlightened her with the gift of knowledge & wisdom during her exam. And send the Holy Spirit upon her.

I pray also Lord God for the success of the 2014 Phil. Bar Exam and ask for guidance & protections to all the examinees & examiner as well.

Lord I know You have better plans for my sisters career. I pray that she will pass the bar exam so she can enjoy her chosen career and to have a good job that she can apply her profession. And also be a good lawyer.

Lord I know youre the source of everything and I thank you so much. And this we pray to our Almighty Father with the Intercession of Our Mother Mary. Amen.

Prayer for Financial Breakthrough for my Car Loan

I greet you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord Amen. Firstly I would like to sing praises to God for securing me a Job and thank you Lord for answering my prayers. I settled for less salary and I am grateful to God as there are very few job offerings this time of the year.

Please pray for me for financial breakthrough as my car installment is too high and I have applied this morning to purchase a smaller vehicle. My previous loan has attached me as a bad payer, and I owe 1months re-payments and will pa it today to settle

Please pray with me and for me for my application to be approved so I may have a stable financial situation, to pay for a small car with less instalments. In Jesus name Amen.

A Prayer for my friend and her mother who has terminal cancer

Please help me pray for my friend and her mother who has terminal cancer. Please God I pray that the treatment will slow down the cancer and B’s mum will be able to live for as long as is possible. I pray that the treatment will not make her too sick, and that she is able to carry on life as normally as possible.

Dear God I pray for B and her family. Please give them the strength to deal with whatever the outcome of this illness will be, and help this unite them as a family rather than break them apart. Please watch over them – they need your love and guidance.
I pray in particular for B. Please look after B, God, and give her strength to look after her mum and family. Please let her not lose hold of her dreams because of this event.
Finally God, please guide me as to best help B. Show me what I can do to help her deal with this awful event.

Dear Lord God, and Heavenly Father,

I know you are most merciful, loving and understanding. And with that, I call on you and beg for your favor in the legal case that I am facing.

I ask that you talk to the hearts of those who made the charges, and to the hearts of those who preside over my case. I ask that you give myself, and my attorney, the will and strength to prevail over these matters I face in the coming months.

I also ask that you talk to the hearts of those who know me to give them understanding of my case. I ask that in the end, I am protected, guided over by your angels here on earth, and in heaven, both spiritual and in flesh, and that I may move forward with my life.

Dear God,My brother is faithful and true to you. Have mercy on him and his financial needs. He is seeking employment and needs your love and guidance in finding a suitable position. God please bless him in all his attempts to find employment. Put your hands on him.

When my brother is discouraged give him love and support to keep trying earnestly everyday in his pursuit of gainful and worthy employment. Father I’m asking that you forgive my sins. Father in the name of Jesus i rebuke the known and the unknown weapons against me and my family. I break curses and things in dark places, I rebuke in the name of Jesus the seen and unseen. I pray your miraculous spirit comforts me in this time of stress.

Prayer to Keep My Apartment and Pay Other Bills

Lord your my best friend and have always taken care of me. I love you and praise you for never leaving me when others did. The last 8 years have been very hard on me emotionally with losing people in Iraq, a divorce from it, then getting into a relationship with someone who was very selfish .

I opened my home, finances, heart, clothed them, gave them food. I did this because its the christian thing to do. I’ve been in a job that has emotionally drained me and caused me to break down along with the other things going on in my life. Once again its you and I. I ask in your Holy name to please help me with a financial break through quickly.

I need to be able to keep my apartment, pay the bills and eat. I am on a journey of finding me again and not being taken advantage of from a job person or place. I praise you for the love and blessings you’ve given me.

Prayer for Financial Breakthrough for My son and Our Business

Dear lord

I come to you with a heavy heart and ask for a urgent breakthrough on behalf of my son. He’s going through financial hardship. Works so hard can’t seem to make ends meet. He needs 1200 to pay for his rent he’s also in need of 2000 for back child support or he goes to jail.

He’s a great son and doesn’t deserve these hard times he’s going through. His kids want to live with him. He’s going through a custody battle for his kids please lord I implore you help him give him a financial miracle. His court date is on the 19th of this month and he needs the 2000 by then.

We also need a prosperity miracle on behalf of our business we need a breakthrough. We have tried to help my son as much as we can but with the business being slow its hard. He’s a great father loves his kids but he fell on hard times and he wants custody of his kids on June 19 a decision has to be made in regard to custody and his kids rather be with him.

Prayer of Thanksgiving for Protection and Everyday Miracles

Dear Lord, Lord of Jacob, Lord of Abraham, Lord of Moses…..I wake up this morning with a thankful heart, I thank you for protecting me through the night, there are a lot of things and evil spirits that could have harmed me but you chose to protect me because of your love and mercy.

Thank you for waking me up this morning because my purpose in life is not yet done nor over, thank you Lord. Please guide and protect me through this day, my your holy blood shower over me and everywhere so that I stay protected always.

Thank you Jesus Christ for everything in my life, may you protect my family, friends and enemies whom I know and do not know always. Give me strength to handle everything that comes my way, the heart to forgive and love to share.

Prayer for my wife to find a new job

Lord,

I pray that You will guide my wife to help her find a new job that will make her happy and ease the turmoil in her mind. She has been so miserable in her job and received no recognition for her years of dedication to a company that has asked more and more and given less and less in return. I know in these days it should be a blessing just to have a job, but she just cannot bear it much longer.
Lord, please help her to see that she is not alone, and that we love her. Help her to feel Your peace and love for her. Help her to be thankful for what we DO have, that You have given us, our home, family, and each other.
Guide her in her search, Lord, that she can find good employment that will satisfy her and serve Your purpose as well.
Lord, I also would like to offer a prayer for the unemployed people here, and everywhere. Though I am working now, I have known their pain. Be with them, comfort them, and help them find what they need.

Dear God, thank you for all the blessings of good health, daily provisions and daily protection to my family and to our small business that You have blessed upon us. Abba Father, we ask to be filled with the fruits of Your Spirit and that You impart to us Your perfect wisdom that we seek.

Please guide us as administrators, teachers, and support staff as we serve the troubled students at this campus. Help us to provide patient, effective discipline rather than mirroring anger and distain. Develop constructive relationships where there is indifference. As we teach, partner with us, that our efforts will be multiplied by Your greatness.

Father, grant us patience and forgiveness with our students. Remind us that none are without sin, including ourselves. Remind us that each of us carries the personal baggage of our own experience, and that not all know how to lay that baggage at Your feet. Father, teach us to teach our students and effectively prepare them for their rightful place in Your world.

Dear Jesus,

I am so sad and my heart hurts that my mommy is no longer with me. It hurts because I don’t understand why she has to leave me so soon. I cry when I hear other children speak of their mother. I yearn to speak to her and hear her voice again. Please help me to understand what is happening in my life right now. Help me to be able to go on and keep living the life You have for me to live. Give me peace, strength, comfort and love. Fill my thoughts of her with wonderful memories we made when she was here. Help me to desire to continue on and know You will be there to take good care of me. Send people in my life to lead and guide me in the right direction. Help me to feel her presence. Dear Father,

I come to you with a heavy heart. My neighbors are disrespectful, the noise they keep up is stressing me greatly. I have spoken with management about them, but it’s not my desire to see anyone homeless. So I ask you to take control of situation and take them out of my life. You have blessed me with a great job and I worry i will lose it because of the noise upstairs.

I pray that you give them peace in their home and hearts, teach them lord how to respect their neighbors. I pray that you help me find peace, show acts of kindness and continue to be respect in this troubling time. Remind me lord of the love you born into me and lead by example when facing adversities.

Dear heavenly father, I come to you to ask that you give Jordan the strength she needs to undergo chemotherapy treatments. As we all know the many awful side effects there is to chemo. Prayer for My Brother’s Healing and Removal of Cancer

Dearest Jesus, I offer up this prayer for my brother who is scheduled to undergo laser surgery on March 6, 2013 to remove a cancerous growth on his colon. He has been told by the doctors that this surgery is necessary. I pray that everything will go well and the cancer will go away with this surgery and there will be no need for any further treatment.

I pray for his healing dear Lord. I pray that you give him the strength that is required at this time. I pray that you rest your miraculous hands upon him and guide the doctors as they perform the surgery to make him healthy again.

Dear Lord,

I am lost. I need Your guidance in my life. Through all of my relationship troubles I know You have kept a close eye on me and helped me through it all. Right now, I ask You for another favor and to be done at Your own will.

I am lost and confused. The guy I am with may be unfaithful to me and I am never treated and respected as I should be. I know I deserve more, and I know You are trying to help me understand I need to move on. But God, I need just a little more help. I am drowning in my own thoughts and I can not seem to catch my breath.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you for the joy you sent us when Kaitie was born. Thank you also for her intelligence, meaningful statements, love of life, and wise comments. We love her completely.

As you know what is happening within your entire Creation, we know that you are working within Kaitie’s life as the doctors, nurses and technicians assist in discovering what is wrong with her. We ask you to infuse those caregivers with wisdom to do what is necessary to help Kaitie recover from this affliction.

Please uplift Kaitie and her family as they go through the medical tests and procedures needed to diagnose and heal her. We ask also for you to watch over Kaitie as she goes through her daily life that she may continue to complete tasks and schoolwork with her usual competence, composure and joy.

Dear Heavenly Father I come to before You today in need of rescue from the problems I have created for myself because of my sins. There are times when I feel so hopeless and desperate. There are times when I am filled with despair.
