7 Prayers for Anxiety
The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

A Prayer for Peace of Mind
Almighty God, We bless you for our lives,
we give you praise for your abundant mercy and grace
we receive. We thank you for your faithfulness even
though we are not that faithful to you.
Lord Jesus, we ask you to give us all around
peace in our mind, body, soul, and spirit.
We want you to heal and remove everything that is
causing stress, grief, and sorrow in our lives.
Please guide our path through life and make our
enemies be at peace with us. Let your peace reign in our family,
at our place of work, businesses and everything we lay our hands on.
Let your angels of peace go ahead of us when we go out
and stay by our side when we return. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Affirmative Prayer for Freedom from Anxiety
I refuse to worry about anything. I have complete confidence that the God who is always with me is able and willing to direct everything I do, to control my affairs, to lead me into the pathway of peace and happiness.
I free myself from every sense of condemnation, either against myself or others. I lose every sense of animosity. I now understand that there is a Principle and a Presence in every person gradually drawing them into the kingdom of God. I know that the kingdom of heaven is at hand, and I am resolved to enter into this kingdom, to possess it, and to let it possess me. Worry is a thing of the past, and I am free, peaceful, and at rest. In calm trust, I let it be so. And so it is.
Prayer adapted from Ernest Holmes’ book This Thing Called You.
Prayer for Strength and Guidance
Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path.
My heart is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the right way to a just and right resolution. Thank you for hearing my prayer and for staying by my side.
Amen!
Prayer for Anxiety and Temptation
O God,
you make all things work together
for good to those who love you.
Fill us with the invincible power of your love
that the holy desires you have put in our hearts
may not be changed by any temptation;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Affirmative Prayer for Peace of Mind
Truth lives forevermore at the center of my being. I know that the faith that walked over the troubled waters of human experience two thousand years ago is at the very center of my own being.
I know that the inner calm that stilled the tempest is accessible to me today. I know that the Truth within me is always triumphant. And so it is.
Prayer adapted from Ernest Holmes’ book This Thing Called You.
Prayer for Anxiety: Lord Have Mercy
Lord, have mercy.
In all our needs…
In all our hurts…
In all our anxiety…
Lord, have mercy.
With all our questions…
With all we know…
With all we don’t know…
Lord, have mercy.
For healing…
For peace…
For a stronger trust in Your Word and promise…
Lord, have mercy.
To calm our doubts…
To soothe our fears…
To bear our griefs and carry our sorrows…
Lord, have mercy.
Help, save, comfort, forgive, strengthen and heal us by your grace.
Amen.
